Over the mirror is not a bad spot for gauges - have EGT and Fuel pressure up there. Soon to add a boost gauge between them. These are ISSPRO EV2 Performax. I monitor transmission and engine oil temps on FORScan Lite with my phone when towing, and sometimes expand the window to view ICP, IPR%, MGP and FUELPW to see if they are behaving themselves.
@John in OkieLand I'm not complaining about the cataract surgery, it's been great aside from the halos. I wore glasses from 12yo for distance now I don't wear glasses for driving or any distance, just for reading. I had the same problems with road signs and my world was going dark, now 20/20 and bright. The world get a lot more colorful after the surgery! @RacinJasonWV I want to know where in WV you drag race? Isn't Ft Gay the only strip in WV and it's 300'. I drag race also, I like your Falcon a friend had a tube chassis Ranchero.
Back to gauges, I like the over mirror style pod, where did it come from? I though I saw an on top of dash pod but haven't found one. For as long as I can remember or once Sun and Stewart Warner weren't popular Autometer has been the go to gauges. Never heard of these other brands until I bought this PS and looked at gauges. I've used EGT on racecars but always with thermocouples direct wired to the digital gauge/meter.
Autometer makes the overhead gauge pods. I just purchased an Isspro transmission temp gauge and an overhead three gauge pod from Riff-Raff. I've yet to have it installed but hope to soon. The other two gauges to follow will be EGT and fuel pressure.
I'm curious how others have mounted the overhead pod. Did you use the supplied hook & loop or ?? I saw a YouTube video where someone used magnets to attach the pod to the windshield. The problem I see there is those magnets are so strong that I doubt removal would be a simple task. I'm looking for ideas...

I checked Autometer’s website. It looks like they have a lot of options once you get it filtered down to Ford-F250/350-2001(or such). Hopefully this link works to the filtered webpage. https://www.autometer.com/mounting-s...35,14553,14717
I heard about Southside opening, hope it works out for them. Always hear about the strip on top of the mountain, I think it's in Mingo, I don't think that will ever open. I live in Rogersville and Cherokee is 7 mi. from my house also go to Bristol, London Ky and Knoxville. I have land and too many projects but still try and race when I can. There's also a track just south of me, English Mt. that used to be a sanctioned track but now does the no prep, outlaw and flashlight races.
Speaking of original content, Eman did the link to Autometer work and show you some options?
I have the Autometer overhead gauge pod.. got it from Riff-Raff and was hoping to get better ideas of fixing it in place by those who have already mounted theirs.
I thought I was clear in my post just prior to this thread going off the rails.

The posts were in reply to @Eman85 , the OP who started this thread and related to questions he posed to me. My apologies for upsetting you. They have been deleted.
The link I posted was also for Eman85 since he was having trouble finding a dash mount pod and the link should provide him with all the Autometer options for our trucks.
OK, sorry about taking the thread off of the rails.
Yes the link for the Autometer pods worked, gives me the options I'm looking for. Interesting the idea of using magnets to mount the pods. I have used neodymium magnets in the past and they are very strong, like blood blister if you get your finger pinched strong.
While the provided heavy duty velcro on this Autometer pod holds well to itself, and adheres to the windshield well, as seen below, the adhesive to the plastic has not been secure for me so far. Much of the time, the rearview mirror has been holding the pod in place.
I will be taking it down to install a boost gauge, and see what can be done here. That magnet idea sounds good, but think I might just try to improve the adhesion of what is there. Maybe CA glue will hold the velcro to the plastic better. There's a lot of heat this attachment method has to survive - though not today - plenty of rain.
There is sheetmetal in the ceiling of the cab in that area of the cab that you can drive a screw into without piercing the roof. I will take a picture of the mount for my rear view camera's display later.
EDIT: The base of that black plastic arm in the pictures below is screwed into sheemetal.
My wife bought some double sided tape, I think it's called alien tape. The stuff has amazed me sticking things outdoors to wood posts on the deck, might want to check it out.
Let's get back to gauges...
I'm guessing Autometer is the better of the brands offered. I see Isspro, Glowshift and Banks seem to be common, are they good or better to stay with Autometer?
