Temp gauge help.
48 F1 6 cylinder.
Need some help on the temperature gauge. It doesn’t register engine temperature.
Gauge works as it should. Full hot with key off, full cold with key on. There is continuity between the gauge and the sender. The sender has been replaced. Did I get a faulty sender? Where do I look next?

Can you share the part number your ordered? Does it have one or two terminals?
The shop manual outlines how to test the gauge and sender. Essentially, you test the gauge; if the gauge is good, the sender is considered faulty and replaced. You can also use two D cells in series for full gauge swing and one D cell for halfway.

Not sure of the part number. Single terminal. Got it from Dennis Carpenter. I’m pretty sure the gauge is good but I’ll try the D cell test thanks. Seems odd that old sender and the new aren’t working.
