Hi y'all thank you for your help on the last post, I drive a 1997 Ford f-250 HD single cab long bed 460 (7.5) e40d and have a few questions. First off I noticed there is only one O2 sensor is this normal? Also the holes on my cat are too big for my sensor. And is the sensor supposed to be after the cat? My old one had a hole in the pipe coming after the cat but the new one does not. Is it okay if I run it without a sensor for a few days until I weld a fitting next week. And yes it had the MAF sensor, I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA CARB VERIFICATION
Check under your hood at the emissions sticker and see if it's a California emissions truck or a federal emissions truck.
California trucks were OBD2 and use 2 O2 sensors. Federal trucks were EEC-IV and only used one O2 sensor in front of the cat.
That VECI sticker should also show whether it OBD1 or OBD2 compliant
97 California emissions sure should be OBD2 and need 4 HEGOs IMO even being over 8500 GVW
