Hello Joe here i drive 2002 ford 150 4.2 fuel injected with 150,000 mile. Had trouble with engine dying and would not restart , when trying to restart it act like it starving for air. No codes, after 30 min it would startup run fine. I have replace fuel filter, fuel pump, electronic ignition ,plug ,wires alt, water pump etc. This happen after i replace those parts. After 21 years it's probably should of been done long ago, did this last year before I had any trouble. Went back recheck everything i did . But I did not change the crank shaft sensor remove it. I found the end is magnet it was cover with fine black metal like the black sand at the beach that is magnetic.
Clean the sensor off and the sprocket it set above. Reinstall it. Truck started right up no problem. It's just a poor designs.
I can't imagine how much a dealer or mechanic shop would of charge!!!!
I HOPE THIS HELP SOMEONE ELSE IT DROVE ME NUTS HAHA never give up.
This what I found, maybe every one know this all ready.

Thank for the response. How I clean mine was spray the area with degreaser and sprocket, and take air gun to blower it off.
$200 still to expensive, I guess I'm just cheap haha, but to someone that doesn't know i guess that not to bad. What would FORD charge $2,000 .
