Been a while since i have been on this thread.. damn I miss my 7.3.. I guess the good news is my boys are both running them..And That is why I am here.. please excuse me if i start dropping the f bombs.,..but another fathers day washed away..
Son has a 2001 f 250. Power steering is weak.. under statement. He found a leak, and as of normal it was the pressure side hose. he replaced it as he should, and thought he had another leak. He replaced the pump.
Last night he tried to drive it and it failed immediately.
I went to the truck this morning and saw no flow in the pump what so ever, so we exchanged the pump. after to replace the hose seal ( because the damn thing is cheesey as hell and was cracked and screwed after the first install) we continued to see no flow in the damn pump.
I removed the return line from the brakes and placed into a tub, while pumping I had peddle (replacing the fluid in the resivor as I pumped) My next step was to remove the low pressure line from the bottom of the steering pump and see of I had flow there..I broke the damn plastic f'n fitting before I was able to try to do so.. but I am looking for thoughts, why I end today with a stiff f'n drink, waitng for tomorrow to but another damn pump..
by the way, yes, i removed the hoe from the the brake "master cylinder" and verify i have flow from there.
