My 2004 Excursion has a re-built title. The placard in the lower left corner of my windshield had a 'new' VIN assigned and installed when it was rebuilt and the door jamb VIN was removed. I am interested in finding the original VIN assigned to this vehicle. I have done some searching and the only other two suggested places to look are a partial VIN on the header panel or 'stamped' on the upper portion of the frame rail near the passenger side door. I have not had luck finding these, or remnants thereof.
I would greatly appreciate any clues on where to look (or re-look if I did it wrong) to find any alternate VIN locations. I'm pretty sure there should be something somewhere to inspect for. Feel free to send a private message if needed.
