Funny how when they were on the GM HD’s the majority of the people on here didn’t like them. Now it seems they’re starting to grow on people. I can’t wait until the SD’s get a modern IFS and people on here start talking about how much better it is than the solid front axle.

Most here simply don't like the looks of the Chevy trucks so any features that Ford may copy from Chevy will meet resistance.
I think it will be a long... long... loooong... time before Ford installs a IFS suspenstion on a 4x4 HD truck. Ford essentially owns the construction and commercial market due to Fords truck platform that is considered by many as the best.
I too value function over looks. And for me (and presumably everyone else who has a hard folding cover, topper, or slide in), the steps serve absolutely no function. And something with no function looks bad.
It would be nice to have them as an option. Cab clearance lights are an option, and they are pretty much the same as bed steps - make a hole in the sheet metal, stick something in it, and charge more for it.

I have a hard bed cover (that goes on and off sometimes) but it does this magical thing called opens up and I still need to access things in the bed lol

I love the bedside steps perfect for reaching into the bed for the transfer tank pump. One of the best features of the ford and GM
I agree, a longer running board is much more useful.
What type/make of step is your mod?
@PGB999
The 2 side steps are from AMP. They are made to mount to where the bed is bolted to the frame. But that was too far forward for me. I mounted them to a bed support cross member that is toward the rear from the frame mount bolting area. Here is a link to what I did.
I don't know if available after 22 but I have these on my 22 450 and they are awesome. I travel frequently with a fifth wheel and I can reach my hitch and king pin while on the extended part of the step bar. I would take these over that bed step any day. https://accessories.ford.com/super-d...-6-step-bars-1
I would prefer something like this if I was adding a step. Had the I Board extended length running board on my 2016 that did not come with running boards. I got the extended length more for the looks as I always have caps on my trucks.
Negative. I’m hoping they make it optional before I order a new truck.
If they don't make 'em optional, I won't buy another Super Duty.
I understand why many find them useful, but I don't need 'em and won't buy a truck with those side and corner steps.
PS - Those huge fender badges need to be toned back down, too.
It's a No for me; I don't like them or want them and don't use them on our 2023. I could take or leave the bumper steps though with the tailgate step, they seem like a waste of time. They should be optional IMO and if you opt to go without there should be a body color painted bolt on cover part.
I wouldn't have minded having the steps, but since I have a 22, not an issue. As far as looks, could care less. Steps are quite a useful function for some of us physically F'd up folks. When I bought my first SD in '18, I had to have the tailgate step. I use the ever living sheet out of it. Glad I have it in my 22.
Talking about options... here's one that I wish could be an option... a lower storage bin for the side of the bed.. like on the ole 70's dodge Adventurers. Had one of those for a bit and used the **** out of it. Yeah, they can rust out, but man, so convenient.
I don’t need the step. It’s just going to fill up with mud , snow and ice. Anything retractable will freeze up or rust up and be a bunch of junk after the first winter.

Have you ever used one? I had both AMP Research and Bestop Trekstep retractable steps on a few trucks through winters on the NY/Canada border. Salt country. They never failed.
Function over form. We're men. I just put a '24 take off rear bumper on mine simply because I wanted the step pockets. The bed side steps would be great also for reaching tools in the front of the bed.
