If I select “Rain Sensing” in the settings, and put the wipers on auto delay, the fastest they will swipei is like every 12 minutes … which is useless. If I unselect “Rain Sensing”, and set the wipers to auto delay, they swipe like every 10 seconds (on the fastest setting) which is okay unless it is a constant drizzle, then it is too long a delay.
Questions:
Are the delay times adjustable outside the wiper control?
Can the rain sensor sensitivity be increases?
Looked through Forscan and didn’t see anything obvious.
What truck is it???
My 22 doesn't work like that at all.
Depends on how much it is raining and which position the switch is set at, has like 4 different sensitivity settings on the switch.
When it is raining hard and at highway speed, the wiper switch set to highest sensitivity and the wipers go at full speed, you'd think they were about to fly off.
I am mainly concered with the misting rain. on the lowest setting it still takes about 10 seconds between swipes. If rain sensing is on it takes abour 12 minutes between wipes.
Pop off the cover behind the rear view mirror and check to ensure that your sensor is fully seated. It is a common issue that the sensor is not fully clipped in, therefore not able to function as it should. My rain sensing wipers worked like crap, read that on one of the forums, checked and it was not clipped in on one side. Mine had sat that way so long, the adhesive pad was toast. Replaced the pad, clipped sensor in properly and now it works as it should.

With rain sensing on there are multiple sensitivity positions on the stalk. My '19 was the opposite of yours, the slightest little mist would send the wipers into hyper speed. I keep the auto sensing off and just manually select the appropriate setting.

There you go, that is as close to any adjustment that there is.

I imagine you've seen this....
My '19 is the same as yours with rain sensing on, any tiny bit of water has the wipers going as fast as they can, so I turned it off.
So call a buddy that runs a glass shop. He said bring it down.
Took it in and he said the rain sensor was not seated properly and would need a new “pad”. He was out of them so he said to bring it in Monday (today is friday) and he would put a new pad in, seat the sensor and calibrate the whole mess. My cost, I have to pay for the sensor pad ($25 and change).

I have my 18 350 KR and mine is set to auto Sensor and the know set on the first click an it operates exactly like it should. Is senses the most minor mist and the down poses and it does excellent.
12 minutes in any setting is way to long.
I am not sure it can be set in forscan but yours does not seem right at all.
Just as an Update, I took my baby to my buddy’s shop and he replaced the rain sensor “pad”, then calibrated the cameras. The truck now performs as it should.
Sorry I got back so slow, but after the truck repair I had a doc appointment. Apparently I have Bell’s Palsey. Hit me a little hard. Today I had an MRI and a Swallow test to confirm.
Today I had to go a blood draw and it was raining a fine mist.
With the switch in the first auto intermittent position, I got a wipe delay of about every 8 seconds.
With the switch in the last auto intermittent position, I got a wipe delay of between 1-2 seconds.
The other settings were between those two.
The non intermittent settings the blades did the slow and fast thing.
On the way home I had it set on the first auto intermittent setting and while running a few errands the rain stopped. And as I would expect, the wipers did too. When I got home I spritzed the windshield (I have a water gun I spray my Jack Russel Terrorist with when she won't quit barking) and the wipers wiped once to clear and the second curtesy wipe.
All in all, my Platinum Level beast is now working as I would expect a high end vehicle should work.
