Wipers gone crazy

New 23 lariat. First real drive, not 30 min trips. In a constant rain with wipers on the would speed up on their own. Rain sensor was off. I’d set it and for no rhyme or reason they’d speed up. I’d manually slow down after later same thing.
any thoughts

That is what rain sensing wipers do?

You should probably ask your dealer to look at, and check for proper operation?

Not being a smart ***, but i'm sure you read the manual. Dont have my 250 yet, but i assume they work just like they do on my 150 Plat. Wiper stalk all the way down shuts them off. First notch up enables auto sweep, which has a sweep or sensibility control (also on the stalk) and automatically increases sweeps if it detects heavier rain. Next step up is steady slow sweeps. Next up is steady fast sweeping.

I have missed the paragraph in the owner's manual. I have the rain sensor option turned off. I drove the truck home in the rain and did not have an issue with the wiper frequency changing while driving. I have no clue why the wipers would speed up.
Do you have a page number in the manual for the auto sweep?

Have auto wipers in another vehicle with NO manual intermittent option, and I'm generally not a fan. Auto wipers never seem to get it right for my taste...either too fast or two slow.

This is definitely something I'll turn off in my F350 (if I can) once I get it.

yes read manual. All the “smart features”are off. I know as you advance the dial the speed changes from intermittent, slow ,fast and turbo mode. When on slow or intermittent it would randomly go to turbo mode for no reason. Id’ click down one notch and back to slow

I went back to the manual and read the wiper section again. The manual does state that the auto wiper controls both the speed and frequency of the wiping. OP must have the auto wiper feature enabled.

Double check the settings. It is operating as it should when auto wipe is enabled. Maybe you turned off the extra wipe feature thinking it was the rain sensing.
