Good day, Truck has 172k miles. Reading up on this code it could be a dirty MAF and Air Filter. I bought the truck with 99k miles and I have not replaced the airfilter during this time so i am leaning towards this for good measure.
I will also look into pulling the EGR sensor and cleaning it. would it be wise to replace the DPFE sensor as well while I am at it?
Excessive EGR flow. This code, along with a P0404 indicates a stuck EGR valve. Could be a bad EGR valve, but also could be due to an aftermarket air filter. Could also be a dirty or fouled MAF sensor. Also possible, maybe even likely, to be related to intake leaks. The PCM uses MAF as a primary input for turbocharger and exhaust pressure control to calculate air flow for the EGR monitor.
