I was given this air cleaner assembly from the man I purchased the truck from and he said it was on the engine when he bought the truck from the Idaho Rancher, I believe back in 2015.
I am pretty sure this engine is the: 1965 390PI - would this be the correct air cleaner for that engine?
(blue base/ chrome cover, chrome cover has a healthy rubber seal on the bottom side when it would touch onto the blue base.
Also... what is that cone shaped protrusion coming out the side of the bottom assembly piece?
Looks like a generic Ford car air cleaner with a chrome top.
What evidence do you have that the engine is a 390 Police or are you just guessing based on 10-year-old information. Do you know that the 65 PI engines had a solid lifter cam? Have you pulled a valve cover to confirm it has adjustable rockers?
Also, one picture is a plenty.
Well... I ran across a air filter system that on eBay recently (it has sold already) for sale that has the Exact same "Base" like mine. His also has the Snorkel attached and a slightly different shaped Chrome Lid (see below)

I do not think this intake I was given with the truck is the original air filter system for this engine, I think I will go ahead and put this up for Auction and see how it does.
I sent the gentleman pictures of my air cleaner. He wanted pictures of the snorkel Nuts as well to see if they are Round which they are.
So he said that my air cleaner base IS a 1968 and can only be off a 1968 engine (same exact one he had on eBay for sale recently). Apparently this one was on the; 390 GT S CODE engine for 1968.
He said my chrome air cleaner Lid is not a 1968, that it is off a 1971 or 1972 390 engine.
I think I will put them on eBay and see what happens.
