The 4.88 was in a two speed axle, a model 16244. I do not know what interchange there is between models. But I doubt the two speed innards would fit in your carrier, and it's a question as to whether the entire two speed center section would fit in your housing.
Hello, I wonder whether you could be of assistance again please I have located a new gear wheel and pinion 4.88 to one ratio. It’s for a17121 diff but I have asked them if there’s any way of doublechecking this will fit my diff because of the cost of shipping it over to the UK. I don’t want to get the wrong part. They have now asked me for the gear wheel numbers on the existing 7.17 ratio, differential is there any way of finding these numbers without physically taking the diff out of the axle casing? Many thanks, LEE.
