9" Disk brake conversion parking brake

I was looking at a 9" disk brake conversion kit from Summit that comes with 2 parking brake cables, can anyone tell me if this connects to the the rest of the stock cable OK and how does this type of conversion work OK?

The parking brake is the weak link in the conversions. It should connect to your oem cables upstream somewhere.

One reason that I dd not do a disk rear when I built the truck is I did not know how well the emergency/parking brake worked, I insist on having a operational parking/emergency brake

IMO high end shoes, good adjustment and proper bleeding and assembly for your rear drums will give you all the brake you need on the back end. Plus if you set that parking brake it will hold.

Good luck!

I would have to agree with the super moderator here. Strictly being a voice of reason, our trucks typically weigh under 3500 pounds, have in excess of a 60% front weight bias, and over 60% of the braking is done by the front brakes. Our trucks are rarely ever used for any kind of heavy duty or load bearing work. Rear discs in our applications are 90% for show, rather than go, or non-go, as the case may be. There's a lot of other places one can drop a grand that would be of far better benefit, imho. YMMV.
