Looking for a (cheap) dslr camera
I'm looking for a camera because I like to go to car shows and I have 2 issues with pictures
- My fat finger covering part or all of the lens
- picture not what I wanted because I couldn't see the LCD screen with the sunlight
The second one contributes to the first -- I often can't see my finger over the lens because I pretty much can't see the screen. This is especially true if I'm pointing the camera down to get a shot of the engine, suspension or whatever.
I've tried a cheap video/pic cam, but I still run into the same issues -- it's possibly a little better. ( I didn't buy it for that, I've had it for a while.)
Anyway, I don't need fabulous capabilities -- just something that can handle my issues. Searching the web, I've read good things about Canon Rebels -- which are pretty old, but apparently still pretty good -- and reasonably priced ( or so they say).
Anybody have thoughts about this?
Thanks,
hj
Now if you want to upgrade the lens ($$$) the 24-105 f4 is an amazing all purpose walk-around lens.
If you want to play before you buy, I've rented cameras and lens from Lensrentals.com. Great people to deal with and have never had a bad experience. Great prices too! My latest rental was a 7d Mark ii and a Sigma 150-600 f5-6.3 for my trip to the Tetons last year.
