Not anything groundbreaking or crazy, just thought I would share what the "waveform" looks like coming out of the factory inverter in our trucks. I know a few people who have said something, and have read a few threads here, about some electronics not liking being plugged into the truck. Since the output is a "modified sine wave" it is easy to see how it may upset some electronic items.

Square wave not ideal for inductive loads, but most devices plugged into this will have a small transformer into a rectifier for DC applications anyways. Square wave inverters are cheaper and generally more simple and reliable. Thanks for sharing and cool handheld scope.

Thanks for the power details! I've noticed that some things don't like the FORD 400w inverter, like an old HP printer that I had and a small deep freezer. It's actually both ways though as often times the inverter shuts off when it doesn't like the load.
I thought that it being FORD quality is job #1 it would have been pure sine wave, lol. It's no matter, as I have a 5,500w pure sine wave inverter and four 900a deep cycle/starting batteries. I should build a device to fast idle the truck when a higher amp load is detected. That's better than a concrete block on the accelerator.
When you say did not care for it, you mean it would simply not charge?
It would charge but very slowly, also nasty buzzing sound. Didn't want to risk damaging my only charger and batter 400 miles from home I unplugged it and found an outlet in one of the loader sheds.

Gota Love Amazon. Ordered the meter yesterday and it arrived today.
went to the pro-power 120vac bed outlets on my 2024 F-450 and no load output is in the pictures below. It was a clean sine wave. This is hot to neutral.
Measured hot to ground and neutral to ground and had strange readings in the 80vac area. I’ll post those tomorrow when the sun comes back up.
