ForScan TPMS Sensor IDs

Is there any way to view and edit the current TPMS IDs in ForScan?

I put new OEM TPMS sensors in my new tire and wheel setup and I cannot get the truck to learn the new sensors.

The truck is a 2020 F250 XLT. I’m able to scan the new sensors and retrieve all the data including their ID numbers. I’ve tried to do a stationary relearn via air down, TPMS tool trigger and an OBD relearn which is supposed to write the new IDs to the ECM?

Anyways, was hoping someone knew how to manually enter the IDs via ForScan. That’s my last hope. Otherwise, I am disabling TPMS I guess.

Thanks for any help!

so you put the truck in training mode and it won't honk when you trigger the first sensor?

Are you sure they are the same MHZ in your new wheels as what that year truck needs? can you scan your OEM sensors to make sure they are the same MHZ as your new setup?

I've been swapping tires/rims between winter and summer on 2012, 2015, 2018, and 2022 trucks and never had to do anything but drive the truck 10 miles or so and then it picked up the new sensors and updated. I think on the 2018 (maybe it was the 2015?) i had to buy new sensors for the winter wheels since they changed the MHZ that the truck used. I've never used any "training mode" on a ford truck wheel swap, but on my wifes chevy though that is the only way to get it to pick up new wheel sensors.

Ive already sold the old tires and wheels with sensors… I should have scanned them. I did search my truck TPMS by Vin though and it said 315 mHz and that’s what my scanner indicates the new ones are.

I tried an OBD Learn / Write and it’s unable to write the new sensor IDs…

The sensors need to be activated during the learn procedure. Get one of these: https://amzn.to/3KdTK4o Ford TPMS19

My experience: I bought a new 2024 F350. Did not like the wheels/tires. Traded them for wheels/tires from a 2022 King Ranch. Of course they had different frequencies between the model years. I believe the new one is 433 and the old one was maybe 315??... I don't remember. So I ordered new TPMS sensors from Ford that matched the truck's needs. Replaced the TPMS Sensors and still could not get the Learn procedure to recognize the new TPMS sensors.

I broke down and purchased the tool, and the first attempt, it worked great.

Just a note, there is two learn procedures. One short hand, and one longer.

Also, the sensor should have stamped on it what frequency they are.

Wouldn't it be easy, simple and cheap to pay $20 to a tire shop to perform the TPMS learn procedure vs attempting to disable TPMS which is a dumb idea? YEAH, always clone your existing TPMS sensors if you can or use OEM TPMS and drive a few miles and see if you get lucky.

I have had great success with Autel MX dual frequency TPMS sensors and the MAXI TPMS PAD (no longer available). It connects to my laptop easily. They worked on both my 2020 F-350 and my 2022 F-350. I even put a set on each of my two of my Nissans and those cars are picky.

I also have FORSCAN, but have not attempted TPMS with it. My final word of advice is to change the spare to the same as the tires you are running. Even if its a lightly used tire and wheel. This post reminds me that I have a slow leak on my Nissan tire that needs a look at tonight.

Oh, FYI: You can clone any similar year/model truck OEM TPMS sensors and they will program easily. Likely on their own within a few miles.
