wax or ceramic coating

I see where the coating is really expensive and is it really worth it- or is waxing gonna help with the clear coat last a bit more- Bottom line is this 2023 has NO garage and it snows a bunch here- the other consideration is in this economy the coating would be a bit tough to do on a fad- This is more for camping and hauling and for sure not a show truck any ideas or comments?

There's the kinda "halfway" option of the DIY spray-on hybrid ceramic coatings that actually do a pretty decent job and aren't terribly expensive.

The "real" ceramics, you need to do a lot of pint prep beforehand, and that's what costs all the money, because a skilled etailer is not cheap per hour, and it's a lot of hours.

FWIW, I use GRIOT's wax, and 2 coats od Collinite 845. BUT, I clay bar entire truck first for best results. Collinite is approx $20.00, and the GRIOT's is approx $45.00. BOTH will last you a long time. both on the truck, and shelf life. REMEMBER, it does NOT take a HEAVY coat of the 845. IMO, 2 coats is best. FWIW
