That's because the clever community of Ford truck owners solved a problem by retrofitting a Ranger valve way back when these trucks were new, that Ford did not recognize nor respond to the demand for a solution to until a couple of years later.

Problems that consumers solved first have often preceded the eventual appearance of a similar solution in production.
