Does anyone have the Classic Auto Air kit installed? If so I have two questions. How loud is the fan? What temperature will it put out? Thank you,
James
not exactly what you asked, but i have an old air products hurricane kit in my 75 supercar the fan is pretty quite below 1/2 speed and very loud at full speed. it will freeze out the passengers even in the back seat on a hot summer Texas day.
I installed the kit in my '77 F250. It works great, the fan is not so loud at level 2, it is still bearable and at 25°C the system cools down to 8°C at the ventilation nozzles
Greetings Tobias
Most if not all aftermarket AC offerings have a Spal fan and I personally can speak for Vintage, Restomod air and Classic Auto air...yes they are loud. As previously mentioned on the middle setting it's tolerable, on high it's like a leaf blower. You won't get away from this, just the nature of the design. They all get plenty cold and I'm in Phoenix.
Custom Auto Air is now installed. Man does it work great. This morning it was 82 degrees outside and my air was blowing 36 degrees! I am very pleased with how it works as well as how it looks under the hood.
Any underhood pics of how the compressor looks and mounts? I’d like to do the install in the future seeing as how this is going to be a Georgia truck but my restoration budget is currently exhausted.
Thanks.
I chose Custom Auto Air because of the way they routed the hoses. Vintage runs them through the fender and in the fresh air location on the factory air trucks. That seemed like way too much effort and not needed in my opinion.
I let my installer order it so he could make a little on it. He sold it to me for $2,100. That was for the kit and compressor. Best money I have spent in a long time.
