Have a 2016 F350, want to go with a hard folding tonno cover. I pull a 5th wheel and want a cover that I can open and still pull my fifth wheel. I would also like it to have the option of opening it up all the way for access to the whole bed. Does anyone have or use such a cover? Thanks.
You'll be hard pressed to find a folding cover of any kind that will open to allow you to use the entire bed without taking it off. I believe there was one that 'hinged' along the front with air shocks to hold it up, but I can't recall what brand it was. I don't think you could drive with it up because it blocked the rear window and would just catch air and get damaged or slam down.
If you want one that will allow you to use the whole bed without taking it off, you're going to have to look at roll-ups. There's a few options for hard roll-ups, I personally went with a soft roll-up when I had one years ago and had no issues with it on two different trucks (a '99 and an '03 SD short box). I have a tri-fold softy on my current truck (came off my last truck as the box sizes didn't change) and I love the thing, but I think it's only available from RAM when you factory-order it. I can't find a manufacturer name on it, I've never seen one on another brand of truck, and I've never seen one for sale in the aftermarket for any other brand of truck. It's held on by (4) over-center locking clamps at all corners, no bolts/nuts to tighten down at the front, and it feels honestly more secure than several I've used that did have the nuts/bolts/handles. If I need to use the whole bed I can take it off in less than 3 minutes, including opening it and actually getting it off the truck. Everyone in my family wants one but I just can't find it anywhere. BUT every Ram I've seen that was ordered with the cover has a similar one to it.
Tonno Pro | Tonno Fold Tri-Fold I have this one and stays on in SD 80mph speed limit. A lot of roll ups were flapping in the wind, it was very reasonable price when I bought.

That is what I have now. Just looking into a hard fold tonno. Actually I am on my second TonnoPro.
