Is there a vin data plate anywhere on these? I
know it’s stamped on the frame. The DMV is giving me trouble on another vehicle that is missing the data plate but it’s stamped on the frame and they say that’s not
good enough.
The VIN on the frame is what federally and ultimately controls. Nebraska appears to require a physical VIN inspection of the complete vehicle by the County Sheriff. The frame stamping should be sufficient as long as it matches the paperwork. If the cab has been transplanted (thus the firewall and/or glove data plates has a different VIN than the frame), your state may require further paperwork for these other VINs. Your best bet is to have the conversations with your DMV and County Sheriff to figure your path forward. Don't be afraid to ask about alternatives such as bonded titles, restoring/replacing the data plate, and notarized certifications when the preferred paper trail is unavailable. Most places have a way, but you may have to really work to find that resource as not every agent knows these alternatives exists. Lastly, the forum is really not the place to get great legal advice/information on matters such as this as each locality does things differently and every internet yahoo will chime in with how they think it should work, or how it worked for them in their locale etc etc etc that isn't necessarily applicable to your situation.

You are correct.
It is the frame that counts. That is the problem with uneducated folks working at the DMV.

yep and i always say when dealing with an entity like that keep talking to people until you get the answer you want to hear. Eventually you’ll talk your way through it. Bring a picture or two of the truck and a couple pieces of candy doesn’t hurt either.

It would have a glove box tag and possibly a patent plate on the firewall. My COE doesn't have a patent plate and no holes or scars where one has ever been, which I found strange as all other trucks I've had or seen had one. I don't know if that as a typical COE thing or just an anomaly.
I feel for you and the runaround you're going through. I know here in Washington, WSP inspectors insist on seeing the vin in 3 places. They have a complete meltdown and treat you like public enemy number 1 if you dare to cross their threshold and they can't find all 3, and your vehicle is subject to impound. I've witnessed it personally. And of course, they are the law. You don't get papers without their blessing and there's no recourse.
The issue is going to be many of the available replacement plates will not have the correct series in the silk screen, the correct GVW printed, or the correct number of boxes for the model.
Just a bit of terminology to help your search.
The firewall plate was known as the Patent plate as it listed pertinent patents for critical systems and assemblies
The glovebox door plate was also known as the Rating plate as on the picture above
I can't tell from the picture - is it attached in all 4 corners? On mine there is one rivet left, but appears to be in the center of the glove box door. So, I assumed the holes for attachment were in the center of the plate. Thanks for everyone's responses.
