I have a 2010 F150, 5.4L, XLT, 4WD, Extended cab, Heavy tow Package.
During Truck Inspection I needed to replace the lower control arm. When removing the Control arm bolts to rear one wouldn't budge and I had to cut it out. So the problem is I cant find a duplicate replacement. Everything listed is are upper control arm bolts. Ford says they are called a Cam Service Kit 7L123B236AB $125.55. I told they the ones I removed were not cam bolts. Something seems nefarious based on the lack of information.
Any explanation would help. Also if I am to use cam bolts what is the new torq spec.
I assumed upper and lower were the same size not even close on a 2010. Why is Ford telling me they are Cam Bolts. Someone must know this. The parts salesman didn't know the answer. He didn't even know the size.
Cams replace the oem bolts that are ONLY used during assembly. The cams are required in order to perform a proper alignment as well. I've used them for decades. The first vehicles I remember them being used on was when they made a drastic change back in the 80's on GM trucks. Torque specs should be included on a read me sheet or printed on the box itself.
