Ok I was watching a video on YouTube saying you should get you differential fluid and transmission changed every 30-60000 miles so I called ford and they said every 150000 miles I have a 6.7 diesel in it but 150000 seems like it's a bit long just like changing oil every 10000miles is to long for me any ideas thanks
Trans & differentials every 50-75k miles IMO. 150k is a BS number Ford pulled out of their rear-ends...they just want a failure out of warranty hoping to drive more sales.

I changed my trans filter at 81k miles. It took almost 9 quarts of Mercon LV to refill to correct level. At 91k miles I drained again (didn't remove the pan this time) to get more of the old fluid out and only had to put in 6 quarts to refill to correct level. So apparently the filter/pan holds almost 3 quarts of fluid that won't drain. I found that interesting.....
At this point I've got 15 quarts of fresh LV in the trans, so now I'll start doing it every 50k miles. Probably will wait and hit the next interval at 150k even to make it easier to remember.

Youtube is loaded with opinions on everything... some good, some not so good. Ford has some really long service intervals, mainly to keep the total cost of ownership stats down. IMHO I get very leery about any service life recommendation beyond the warranty period of the vehicle. Personally, I go 60k or so on diffs, x-case and trans. Mercon LV (or ULV for the 10R140) is pretty tough stuff and honestly I think it could survive but I would rather not chance it. Unless your towing constantly 30k miles seems a bit excessive but not my money.
Not related to the super duty but the wife's explorer manual states transmission fluid change at 150K. It currently has about 135K on the clock. I went into Ford have the transmission fluid changed and the Ford service guy said they won't touch it if the transmission fluid has not been changed before 100k. He stated they have been experiencing transmission issues if the transmission fluid was not changed before 100k. Maybe a selling tactic to get me to buy a new vehicle, I don't know. Just wanted to give my two cents.
