I must admit that I know very little about trucks...but I'm learning thanks to my fiance. He has an 2002 F150 (4.6ltr V-8...I'm not sure if that matters but I'm just proud of myself because I know that )
Well it's nearly X-mas and I'm looking to get the exhaust done on his truck for him. Can anyone give me a ball park estimate of what it's going to cost to get a good job done? I would ask him but I really want it to be a suprise. From what I hear I should get a flowmaster...am I correct?
Please excuse my lack of knowlege on the subject. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help me.
Misty.
I would plan on spending 400.00 or 450.00 on a flow master system. That's the most popular and has one of the best sounds. Good luck and happy holidays

You are a GOOD fiance. It all depends on if you want dual exhaust or single, and Flowmaster and Magnaflow are both good mufflers.Ck out a few local muffler shops and talk to them. Could be $160.00 to $400.00 depending on dual or single exhaust. What I could tell you about Flowmaster is they are hi flow mufflers and there are a few series to choose from. Most common is the 40 and 50 series. 40 series, you can hear more in the cab than the 50 series.Magnaflow is about the same.Hope this helps and good luck.
I had the muffler (Flowmaster), two tailpipes 2 1/2" and stainless (won't rust) tips installed at a local shop for $260.00. It looks good and sounds great!
I have a flowmaster 40 delta muffler...2.5 pipes and 3 inch tips....the system cost 3-4.00 dollars and instalation is around 100 bucks near me. where are you from, if your in my area I could put you in touch with the guys who did mine and they will give you a great price.
I have a 2002 F150 with the 4.6 also and I went to Midas. For a total of around $325 they installed a Raven muffler (Lifetime guarentee) It has one inlet and two oulets. I had him bring it out just passed the cab on the passengers side (Looks like the Lighting exhaust). That price also included two Stainless tips and all the parts were welded except where it bolted onto the stock pipe (That way I can reinstall the factory one should I decide to). It sounds 100% better and is getting nicer over time. The guy talked me out of bringing it out the rear because of the extra $125 to $150 cost and the fact it would quiet it down more.
