Need a trick if anyone has one. 2003 F350 with aluminum outers on the rear. Right came off left didn't. I've sprayed and beat and kicked, I'm old it sucks. I jacked and set a 4x4 on the inner edge of the outer wheel with the lugs loose and dropped the weight of the truck on it and left it sit, didn't budge. I sprayed more and more PB Blaster and Jack of all Sprays on it then jacked it and ran it in forward and reverse and slammed the brakes on multiple times, still stuck. I've sprayed and beat and now have it sitting on a 4x4 that is wedging the outer and I'll check it in the morning. Trying to avoid the chain and jack method on the outer because it's aluminum. Any suggestions or something I haven't tried? I will try the driving with the lugs loose and do figure 8's next.
Take a torch to the wheel, even just a butane or MAP torch will do the trick, especially if you've already soaked it down with PB Blaster or similar. Run the flame fairly slowly around where studs poke through.
I live in mag chloride country. I've tried jacks, come alongs, sledge hammers to get winter wheels off. Heat works best.
Propane for the win!! I used my propane plumbers tank and kept going around the inner part of the rim just above the center. After a while I kicked the tire and both wheels moved. Cleaned up the hub and the wheels and put a coating of anti seize on the surfaces. The center of the aluminum wheel had a heavy buildup of corrosion that I had to scrape off. I oiled the lug nut washers and installed it all.
The heat was the trick.
