Cousin has a 2018 F-150 panic alarm went off when it was sitting in the driveway a few weeks back and they couldn't turn it off, finally unhooked the battery and it stopped. Now the alarm is no longer going off but the horn won't work with the horn button on the steering wheel, power locks won't work with the buttons on the doors but work by the key fob. Flashers turn on and wont turn off when the key is turned off, they will turn off when the key is on or the engine is running. Wrench light is on, Change Engine Oil message popped up as well as TPMS Fault. I have a basic scan tool and pulled code U0101 out of temporary memory. That could have been a false alarm due to the battery being unhooked? It hasn't came back. She noted that it gets condensation on the front floor boards like it may be leaking somewhere around the windshield, I did notice some corrosion type stains on the floor around the Transfer Case Control Module and the BCM. I suggested she finds someone with a better scan tool to see what the BCM status is? Any one have any better suggestions. Thanks
The moisture in the cab is certainly suspect. I would also check the age of the battery. A dying battery has been the source for all kinds of seemingly unrelated issues.
The immobilizer is still in the triggered mode, try putting the key in ignition, turn to run and leave it for ~30min, this may reset the confused truck..
When you installed the good battery did you use Forscan to communicate with the truck to tell it there was a new battery? If not, you can also follow a procedure from the owner's manual to tell the truck it has a new battery.
Check all of your cables and grounds. If any corrosion reached the insulation, replace them, as you don't have any idea how far the corrosion goes under the cable. Make sure the grounding cable from the chassis to the frame is connected to good clean metal. On these CANbus trucks, even corrosion in the headlight/tail light sockets can cause all kinds of issues.
