I have a 2016 F150 with the 502 a package. my back up camera has been busted for a long time due to a little incident so I decided it was finally time to get the tailgate and the camera fixed. The tailgate will only open with the key fob. The button does not work anymore. I have not had the recall done yet, so I am hoping that will help with that problem. I took it to the body shop. This is what would display when I put it in reverse before I took it in

when I got it back from the body shop, it was exactly the same. And now the tailgate does not open at all not with the button or the key fob. They told me I had some busted wires underneath. I could only find one wire that was busted.

I did dirty repair to see if that would solve the problem. I pulled the plug right apart, pulled the pin out. And when I plugged everything back in this is what it showed.

When I pushed my 360 button absolutely nothing happened. so I drove it around for a few minutes and put it in reverse again and this is what it showed

that is not a video image, though that is still picture it does not change while backing up and none of my front camera or side cameras work. But I
push my 360 button now. Everything works just fine.

so if I unplugged that white wire again, everything goes back to the way it used to be. As far as the back up camera goes.

What can possibly be going on with that camera and that wire?

I am going to get the recall done on the tailgate, so I’m hoping with the new harness that they’re supposed to put in it will take care of the tailgate opening problem. If not, does anyone have any ideas on that?
