2017 Sync 3 Version
I have a 2017 F-350 Lariat with Sync 3 (no nav) that is running 3.0.20204. According to the "check update" feature and owner.ford.com, this is the latest version for my truck. I've seen the references to CyanLabs and have read that there are quite a few newer versions of the software available.
I'm trying to wrap my head around all of this. Is 3.0.20204 the latest that Ford supports / recommends for my model year or am I just hitting a bug? It seems that MY2020 introduced a design change - could that be what I'm seeing (2017-2019, 3.0; 2020+, 3.4)?
I'm considering the 3.4 updates because recently CarPlay has started acting goofy, plus I'm a computer geek by trade so my "keep it upgraded" nerve is twitching.

Thanks for any insight you have.
Regards,
j
It will tell you what, if any updates are available and what options you have to download them.
I have a 2017 F-250 that had Sync 3.0 on it when I bought it in '20. I took a leap and jumped to 3.4 with it and have been happy since then. My last update was with CyanLabs updater, but the original jump I did using the following thread to get me started:

I realize that's over on the F150 forum, but the instructions work for the SD's as well. It was well worth the effort to do it. I have even update my maps to newer than the 1/14 that I had originally. CarPlay works pretty good with it and now that I have a wireless CarPlay adapter, it's even better.
Good luck with it!!!!!
