Hey, I just bought an 89' bronco with the 5.0 V8 and it has had a transmission swap. I believe it originally had the computer controlled E4OD, and the previous owner had swapped in a C6. the computer is not happy about that at all. anyone know what kinda ECU I could swap in an 89' bronco with the 5.0 V8 and C6 tranny? thanks.
forgot to mention that when I unplug the IAC the idle does not change at all, and shifting to drive still somehow lowers the RPM from 1000 to 800. I don't understand how that happens, considering when the IAC is unplugged the ECU can't affect the idle.
btw if I shut it off for a while and start it up, it will idle at a perfect 800. when I shift around it will be like how it's shown in the video.
Plug a MLP or TR sensor into the harness where the original E4OD plug is
I assume someone wired around the neutral start function of the original manual lever position sensor (MLP) that your older E4OD had
That should make the processor know what gear you are in and solve the hunting idle and a few codes
I really just need to get a new ECM. it was in pretty rough shape and my sketchy soldering job didn't do it any favors. I can't seem to find what ECM would go with a 5.0 V8 and C6 tranny bronco. to make matters worse the emissions sticker is missing from under the hood.
I have the calibration code. think I can figure anything out with these numbers?
VIN number is: 1FMEU15N3KLB45079
There is no processor for a 89 with a C6 IIRR
By 89 the C6s were gone out of US trucks
You will need to replace the processor with one for your original application / calibration
Use the numbers off the processor you have to find another.
