Yes, weyerhaueser has what Chevy's are left in their fleet as "on road service only." The chev's front ends couldn't take the punishment of logging roads.

Now, I hate carlike trucks, and don't like the 97+ F-150, with it's IFS front end. What a joke. Ford never should have got rid of the TTB. Durability of a solid axel, and the nicer ride of an independant front. Darn soccer moms wanting carlike trucks anyway.

Just say Superduty. Mmmmm, beefy.

I would also like to point out that lifted Rangers that are used off road probably outnumber lifted S-10's 10:1. I rarely see S-10's wheeling, and see tons af rangers. Well, at least TTB rangers.

Kinda funny that when there is a compact truck shoot out either the Ford Ranger wins or the Toyota Tacoma that tells you what is better. Check out Four Wheeler, Consumer Reports, Off-Road etc. comparo's Both of these trucks wins back and forth.(NEVER THE S-10)

i've bought a new tacoma also...great truck also.
when it comes to minitrucks, you cant compare payload or horsepower or anything like that...if that were the case, you'd buy a full size truck.
all other factors, the ranger wins hands down. s10's are cool because chevys are cool, but if you aren't a brand name person, you'll own a ford because it is better

i'm torn, in my driveway sits my 89 bronco right next to my dad's 94 suberban w/ a 350. they are both fun to drive and i like both. but i dont know, i'm torn, i'm 18 and o like both, but chevy definently has more engine options and is cheaper to make fast.

Of course...the F150 has looked goofy since the late 90's. The new 2004 F150 is dubbed "more car like than ever" so if you guys think Chevy's are car like...ya ain't gonna like the new F150. Ford is agrees and will still offer the "Heritage F150" just in case folks don't like what they've done.
I have to disagree with you on the new Colorado, I think it is very tough looking, don't get me wrong I do love my ranger but hey if i was given the choice between the two today I don't know what I would do.

I like all trucks and have compared various trucks to each other and found lots of differences making me not to have a bias since all trucks are similar in various ways. Most people hate other companies becuase their daddy did.. People need to make their own decisions and like whatever they want.. Judge once you've owned more than one vehicle from a company you love or hate. Oh and no I'm not responding directly to what you said.. I do like Ford. Chevy, etc. I just felt like saying that.

Where I live, there are lots of lifted S10's and very little amounts of Ford rangers at all, me owning one of them. I see a lot of lifted Sonoma's and they are quite nice... Though of course I like my trucks better. (They are mine)

Thread is from 2003 and should be left there. My only experience was an S10 vs. my '86 Ranger. Lower seating, fancier interior, and the 5 speed manual in the S10 (a T5) was so much better than the POS in the Ranger I wanted to trade trucks. But I didn't.

Back to 2017 in a moment.
