Confirmed code PO157 and pending code PO056 on a 2017 3.5l F150 at 50,300 miles. Yesterday the engine was skipping a little on a cold start at high idle and then hunted between 8000 and 12000 rpm.
Any member have experience with this condition and repair?
We had an O2 sensor "fail" several years ago. As it happened, it was not actually the sensor, but a rodent had gotten to it and chewed off the wires. Right down to the sensor itself. It was an expensive repair for such a simple problem.
I had to replace all four sensors on my 2011. No issues with it running any differently but it was flashing a code. Started with one going bad then next, I had them all done.

Interesting that more than one of the sensors failed. Seems that for the '17 MY O2 sensor failure is not common, but overall there ARE way too many malfunction codes thrown by bad sensors.
Looks like the bank 2 sensor 2 is on the driver's side, rearward of the cat and accessible. Hopefully road salt hasn't frozen the thing solid.
I did see online that one cause of O2 failure is contamination due to dirty air filter. This truck is typically driven on dusty rural roads so an air filter inspection/change is overdue anyway.
Air filter was clean and I bet the sensor itself will also be. The driver- aft sensor wire shows damage from contact with the forward driveshaft. Source of MIL identified.
Size of sensor is ⅞'' measured with an open end wrench.
