Brake pedal is bleeding down at stops, brake system needs attention obviously.
i replaced the factory soft lines with aftermarket Crown stainless about a year ago, no leaks found, and fluid in master cylinder has not dropped and still full.
Research so far points to master cylinder or ABS unit. I called Ford dealer today and they say the Motorcraft master cylinder is discontinued. Next best option?
I will try activating the ABS on a gravel road soon, any other advice? Forscan to bleed is what I understand the other option to be.
Not sure what your part number is, I just replaced most of my brake parts Sept 2022. The master cylinder, and calipers were avail new for my 7.3, 5C3Z-2140-LB. I see now the Master cylinder is coming up NLA, WOW....
Did your dealer do a nationwide search?
Here is the Dorman equivalent for the part I listed,
My guess would be the master cylinder seal is leaking down pressure.
The ABS will pulse the brakes, but I don't think it creates the pressure.
Amazon has the Dorman for $83 or Raybestos for $70.
The Raybestos and Dorman have the same part no., are they related somehow?

Interesting the Raybestos master cylinder on Amazon shows in the first picture one of the pressure sensors included, but doesn't show it in the last pic.
The Dorman doesn't show the sensor at all.
Not sure which sensor it is, but I remember reading one of the sensors is hard to find.
I went down this road. Same symptoms. Changed master cylinder and no difference. Ended up getting a abs unit off eBay and had dealer put in. 100%
fixed
Just left a dirt lot where I was able to activate the ABS and confirmed it is "functioning" as you can feel the pulsing. Obviously it could still be the issue but starting with a master cylinder seems to be the logical (and cheapest) first step. Really hoping the ABS is not the source of the issue but won't know until after the master cylinder swap.
I cannot locate a Dorman locally and based on a busy work/family schedule I need to get the swap done today. Here's hoping that I don't regret installing an auto parts store house brand master cylinder...

Brake fluid sensor. The one from Ford included a new pigtail adapting the new supplied sensor to connect to your existing harness. The sensor vendor must have changed.
Another thought on this issue. In the past I have knocked the vacuum line off the engine side connection resulting in loss of brakes. Pedal went to the floor but was more severe. I wonder if a slight vacuum leak could be the culprit…
So I don't remember it being mentioned, or in your profile. What engine are you, and with this vacuum hose,,,,,you have the vacuum booster behind the master cylinder?
If you diagnose it as a bad vacuum booster, you could replace with a hydroboost setup. I had a donor truck, which made it much easier, here is a thread I made to document this: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...onversion.html.
I have found the hydroboost setup to be much more confidence-inspiring than the vacuum boost setup.
