Does anyone know if someone makes a brake line kit, pre bent for the 3.0L Aerostar shorty? she's an 89
I just did my Navigator and it was nice to have everything pre done like that, plus they are stainless and should last a long time
They are original so I think 35 years - I got my money out of those - I know if I try to replace the calipers and hoses, they will prob just fall apart, so I might as well do everything including a new master too.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to find pre-bent SS brake lines for the Aerostar. It was just not a popular enough car for vendors to make something like this for it.
If you live in an area where they salt the roads in the winter, I can see corrosion eating away at the stock steel lines. Otherwise, with the proper tools, you would be able to remove and replace the 3 flex lines on the car without damaging the hard lines.
Do a close inspection for rust on the current ones. I legit had a rear line blow out a couple years ago on a panic brake. I was about an inch from crashing bad.
I guess my only real option is to buy a reel of the coated copper line and just bend them...
I just feel like everytime I drive her, Im asking for this to happen - it's scary when a line pops for sure.... and yes, I do live in the NorthEast - I dont drive her much in the snow but sometimes, and over the years, yeah, corrosion is real for sure...
Any recomendations for line size, etc - 3/8"? Fittings? - are the masters to the block bigger than the lines from the block to the hoses?
