Gap between frame and truck bed

I just installed the truck bed on a 1970 F250 I'm redoing (I've got a build thread on it). It's a complete new bed floor. The front cross brace of the bed floor up by the cab sits on the frame. However the cross braces with the middle and rear bed mounting carriage bolts have about a 1/4-1/2" gap between the cross brace and frame. However the very rear of the bed, right by the tailgate, sits down on the frame (where the short bolts connect the bed to the rear most holes on the frame).

I don't remember how it was when I originally took the bed off. Is this how it is supposed to be, or do I need to shim that space with some washers? The box sits on the frame right and looks right, just not sure if the space between the cross braces and frame is supposed to be there on a few of the mounting points.

I dont know your year truck, I got a 81 F100, but I would say that gap is too nuch.
First I have to ask the cross braces is the "U" part up or down?
I ask be cause on the 80's trucks with style side bed the "U" is up and welded to the ribbed bed floor.
The cross braces are of different sizes so they sit on the frame even, front to rear.
There is also short tubes where the bolts go other wise when you tighten the bolts the floor dose not cave in and will tighten down.

Now on the 80's flare side the cross brace "U" faces down to the truck frame.
There are wood blocks that fit inside the "U" of different sizes to fit the different gaps front to rear.
Because the blocks sit on the frame and to the ribbed floor the floor will not cave in when tighten.

Again I dont know your year trucks but I cant see it being that much different than the 80's.
