Foldback power mirror interior plastic is broken so the mirror moves when at speed and vibrates. Looking online I see a lot of re-pop mirror at low prices but I'm concerned about quality. Are there good brands ? Am I better off looking for an OEM ? If OEM and you have a recommended site I'd be happy to hear about it.
Personally I wouldn't be too concerned with quality in something like a mirror. Whatever looks best.
OEM would be best, but not necessary (in my opinion)
Well, I was ready to buy one of the aftermarket unit but a review talked about how much one they bought shook when going down the road - which is how I noticed that mine had a broken base. It's pretty annoying to look in the mirror and have it shaking enough that the image is blurry. Makes no sense to me to bolt on junk.
By OEM I mean wrecking yard, doubt there are any new units anywhere.

The broken part is what the assembly rotates on when the mirror folds back. Unseen is a piece that broke off and allows the mirror assembly to move up and down a little which allows significant vibration when going down the road.
I usually use LMC for stuff like that. They don't have reviews but I've found them to be a great source for alot of vehicle specific parts for these trucks. Their chrome power mirrors aren't terribly expensive, around $40. Thats obviously more than you'd pay at a junkyard but personally I'd rather pay $40 for a new chrome mirror than $10-$20 for a 30 year old one. My mirror actually has the same exact problem as yours (if you think thats bad you oughtta see the mailbox I hit) I havent got around to changing it yet but when I do it will be from LMC

There are no chrome power adjustable mirrors on these trucks. The OP has the paddle style mirror. I don’t know about the quality of aftermarket for that style but the chrome mirrors are not nearly as good as OEM. They vibrate and the chrome is thinner. It will start to rust in a few years. I buy used OEM as replacements.

Sure there are! In the original post he says it’s power mirrors. I have a 93 F150 like OP and I also have stock power adjustable chrome mirrors. Mine is an XLT 5.0 maybe a trim thing?

Can you recommend an online source for quality OEM replacement ? When I search I get multiple pages of aftermarket and a few eBay OEMs but there is no way to determine quality. I don't want to have to buy and return multiple before I stumble on a quality part, that is why I ask here.

I'm happy to pay for a quality replacement that is equivalent of OEM. I'll look into LMC.

I suppose that “chrome” colored plastic cover is a chrome mirror but not what I would consider a chrome mirror.
I replaced the passenger side a few years ago and it was good. Truck got wrecked and I had to do it again. Then I broke the driver's side trying to swivel it (some WD-40 or whatever should've been applied first). I haven't gotten it on the road since as I'm in the process of getting it back together, but I expect the same results as I had with the original passenger replacement.
