i built a 302 not to long ago it should have around 400 miles on it. smoke comes out of the oil filler on the valve cover barely. when you push the gas a little it goes away probably sucking it back in but i don't know. it is bored 60 over. i heard from an ignorant shevy freak that if it is bored 60 it is supposed to smoke a little. i said i don't think so. the only smoke that comes from my pipes is black since i think i need colder spark plugs. that is only when it is cold when i rev it up though. i have no lack in power so should i be worried about the smoke from the valve cover or not.
which one should it be this motor is totally unstock except for heads, crank and rods. it has a 1406 edelbrock carb where is the pcv supposed to hook up at. to the big port in the front of the carb. i have a triangle air cleaner from edelbrock and i have the pcv hooked to the air cleaner which is probably not the right place. the new valve that i bought has to ports it comes with a plug i have it plugged.
