OK, given that I read about problems with this feature now and then, I'll ask:
What is the advantage of your truck storing information about trailers?
The only thing I can think of is this could allow your truck to remember the brake controller settings for different trailers, but IMO, this would be of limited value for trailers that require different settings when empty vs full (for example, dump trailers and flatbed trailers) where you'd still need to know how to adjust brake controller manually to match the load.
Many of the advantages have already been mentioned above. To answer your specific question for me its ease of use. While I agree that brake settings would need to be adjusted based on load all you are adjusting at that point is the gain since the truck already knows brake type, brake effort, trailer length, etc. So it's as simple as squeeze the manual override, tap to adjust the gain and done.
I only speak for me, but I have a variety of trailers and rv's that I drag around at any given point so there are all stored in my truck. Connect trailer cable, select trailer, adjust gain if need be and done. It makes a huge difference when getting those settings entered correctly also which is kind of the point. Some don't use tow/haul either. I always do. To each their own but that is what works for me.
I hauled my small (5'x10') utility trailer for the first time with my 2023 F-350 KR with the 6.7 S.O. Powerstroke. I setup a trailer profile in the system. The first noticed is even at 55 MPH the transmission would not shift past 8th or 9th gear. (the trailer was empty, less than 1,000LBS) As soon as I unhooked the trailer of course the system knew there was no trailer connected, and when I went out it shifted to 9th and 10th gear. Is this normal for the new 10 speeds to stay out of the two higher gears when a trailer is hooked up?
How far of a drive was it? On some trucks they will lock out some of the higher gears until the transmission has reached a certain operating temperature. It's not normal by any stretch for sure.

Thanks for the reply.
IMO, new trucks have quite a few features such as this that provide very little benefit. Given that, they had d*mn well be 100% dependable and trouble free. If they aren't, those features move to my "thanks, but I'll pass" list. Remote tailgate drop is at the top of the list (laughably small benefit and well known to cause problems), and this "trailer memory" feature is a close second.
"remote tailgate drop"? Like push a button and the tailgate goes down?
How lazy is that.
Not lazy at all!
Getting out, press the button, gate is open when you get back there. Or leaving a store, hands full, press button on remove, gate down, load truck.
My 2022 F150 Lariat had power down and up, my 2024 F350 Lariat with the Ultimate package only has down. I also want power up! Looking into adding that now.
Don’t forget those of us that have had multiple shoulder surgeries and can barely lift our own arms after a day of slinging chain saws or whatever else. Pushing that button is petty nice vs searing shoulder pain.

Or other medical reasons that render what use to be simple tacks or movements a fleeting memory.
Not giving details or looking for sympathy, but look at pics of my rear window in other posts.
