Cranks but no start
Now my current situation involves my 2001 Ford F350 four-door with a 7.3 L diesel. This truck isn’t driven often as I mostly use it to tow trailers during good weather toys, etc.
I last drove it last September. It ran when I parked it. Around January, I went out to start it discovered the batteries were completely decayed and dead flat. They may have been this way for months.
After installing new batteries in January. I discovered the cranks but won’t start. Issue Due to the weather and the lack of covered garage I’ve kind of put it on the back burner.
I have a super chips tuner that you simply plug in and it saves the stock program and then a hotter program. It’s also a DTC reader indicates a PO 60 or internal Kam error. I’ve been told this may simply be due to the fact that I have the superchip tuner. Is that true?
Is there any issues I should be aware of? May be causing my problem due to the extended time that the batteries were dead. Like I said it ran fine when I parked it I am baffled.

Your batteries will drain over time due to parasite draw (trailer brake controller?) Put a trickle charger on it every couple of weeks to keep the batteries topped off. The 7.3s will not start if the voltage drops below 10.5v. With the glow plugs and starter draw, (even with two batteries) the 'drop' will get close to that voltage very fast. If your truck was running fine the last time you drove it, the 'fix' should be easy to find. Might just have a lot of air in the fuel lines and fuel is not pushed to the injectors yet. Also, check your oil level as the injectors are opened by oil pressure. Is there smoke coming out of the tail pipe (color?). Are your glow plugs working?
.
There is a 'no start' chart in the Tech Folder on the 1999-2003 7.3 main page that you can look at.
Engine oil level ok?
Fuel above 1/4 tank?
-pickup foot can come off causing issues around this level.
Maybe check the HPOP reservoir to make sure the oil is near the top. If it’s low add some and try again.

P0603 DTC is simply batteries disconnected. Or dead. You got both.

Jason has the good questions for ya.
