The day of careful and caring delivery drivers have all but vanished. True there are many that still take pride in their job. You only saw the final delivery. What you didn’t see is how it was handled by countless people before it even got on the delivery truck.
I am GM of a small metal stamping company and we make parts for many big name manufacturers ie Cooper Bussmann, Sensata, Honeywell to name a few. We package the components very well in small boxes, and do ship via UPS, FedEx and DHL daily. We also do truck shipments. I cannot count how many times I’ve walked thru our shipping department when one of the ground carriers are picking up, only to see the driver just tossing our boxes in. I cringe every time. Nothing I can do about it. Luckily we protect the parts inside very well so we very rarely have an issue. But it still sucks!
