Hello I have a 1991 Ford F150 4.9. I am in the process of restoring the back frame including side and Aft fuel tank, and brake lines. I noticed when I looked at the current fuel lines there are steel lines that go to the engine fuel rail and the return fuel line is steel. The fuel line that goes to the vapor tank is steel until it converts to nylon and rubber. The rest of the fuel line that services the side and aft fuel tank is Nylon. Did Ford make build some of their truck with nylon fuel lines? My family has owned this truck since it was purchased off the Ford lot. I don't recall having any issues with the fuel line where they would need to be changed.
If I am replacing these lines what is the opinion of staying with nylon fuel lines or should I go with a stainless steel fuel line?
Is LMC the best source to get new brackets to mount the lines including the brakes to the frame. I tried to go to a salvage yard today to get clips but, they just broke off.
