Hi, i have a 1956 Ford F250 V8 I bought the truck unassembled . I am trying to figure out the wiring a little at a time. I am wondering where is the flasher located. I cant seem to find it under the dash Thanks Mike
There should be 2 flashers, one for the turn signals and one for the 4 way flashers. On my trucks, a 54 and a 55, one flasher was in the holder and one was just hanging by wires under the dash.
Flashers were not even an option in '56, and therefore not illustrated in the factory wiring diagram.
Turning signals were an option in '56, there is a chance your truck never even had them. The way to find out is to check the parking lamp bulb sockets: if they have one wire then your truck was not originally equipped with signals; if they have two wires then they were.
I'm posting this reply in this thread mike, because you shouldn't start a new thread for the same issue.
The way my '56 headlights are wired is they are daisy chained, the hot wires go to once side first, then split from that same side and go to the other, shooting across the front nose grill. Read my previous post; your truck may have nowhere to plug the wires into because it didn't come with them in the first place.

You may have found it by now, but just in case look behind the speedometer housing. Stock from the factory it was held to the housings' rear plate with a retainer clip. I think that also helped amplify the sound of the flasher as it could "drum" against that rear plate.
