01 F350 7.3 diesel. Was changing back to stock with my edge tuner. The controller went blank midway thru programming bank 2 of 4. I unplugged and plugged back in. Now won't tune and get error message. Truck won't start (cranks but no fuel pump). Emailed edge but it is the weekend. Just trying to make sure if any other options besides a tow to stealership if that is where I land with edge. How much does a flash to original cost.
Does that chip hook into the pcm like most or does it jsut use obd2? I've never messed with a edge one before. But if it's goes into the pcm try unplugging it from pcm and see what the truck does with it unhooked.
Call Edge tomorrow. They'll get you up and running by forcing a stock tune back into your PCM with little issue and it'll likely be without cost. Your PCM is "bricked" right now. Nothing but another PCM will make it run before then. Be patient and call them tomorrow.

plugs into OBD2. I only connect when I change from stock to tow. Was installed when I bought the truck and I'm not savy enough for custom tuning. Truck does not start connected or not. Waiting for 8am mountain time to call edge. Thanks for the replies. I will follow up after I talk to them.

This.
My uncle had something similar happen on his ecoboost. I talked with Edge and she got us squared away with some sort of force tune. Don’t remember the details but Cleatus is the expert so I trust he’s 100% correct. It wasn’t a short call though. Took a while but they took care of him.
Seems like the recommendation was to always have the truck on a battery charger while programming. Low voltage can cause program failure IIRC.
Called edge 4/8 in am. Had to overnight both tuner and pcm to them at their expense. Due to misunderstanding they did not receive pcm until Wed 4/10. Edge set my pcm back to stock. Tuner was not repairable (possibly age). It was returned to me before lunch today 4/11 (less than 24 hrs later). Installed pcm and truck is back and chuckling. Impressed with customer service. Still gun shy about a tuner that wipes and writes the pcm. Edge offered an "inline" chip at a discount and I said I'll think about it. Thanks for the the calming word cleatus.

THIS......
you absolutely, must never have a Power Surge, or loss of power while Programming any computer, period...
you can brick a Windows PC that way.
on those, reformat the disk, and reinstall.
BUT, there is a Caveat to that, better not pass through the 1,000 RPM setting.
If you jsut pass over them without pausing it won't ever be a issue. It skips over them until you stop on one for a couple seconds and it flashes. Then it switches to that tune position.
