No, im not buying another stock battery cable harness for a single broken terminal =)
2005 Ford Excursion 6.0
Thanks in advance guys!!
If you know someone that has a crimping tool, and I mean one of the heavy duty ones, you could have them crimp a new terminal onto your existing harness. There is a plethora of terminals out there if you look in all the right places. Don’t forget the adhesive lined heat shrink tubing to do it right.
I have two different styles on mine, simply because the driver side has more accessories hanging on it.
I use FLUID FILM, to keep them looking WET and corrosion free.
the BIG RED fuse is for my ARM Research electric steps,
love them, open the door, and they pop down.
I like the simplicity and flexibility of those terminals...where did you get them? I've also been somewhat looking at the AMP...maybe just a typo...Research electric power steps. Did you buy them new or get from a truck? I see them from time to time where they remove them and put them up for sale, but they don't include the harness and/or the electronic brains on the inside of the cab...
I use marine terminals. Crimp appropriately sized eyelets on the cables and attach. On the larger cables, I crimp and solder them.
Lou Manglass
As soon as I saw "Manglass" I knew it was none other than Lou Manglass, good to see you back Lou
I too recommend marine terminals. This is exactly what I do for every customer that has battery cable issues or wants an upgrade. It takes time and is a work of art to get the cables fabbed up, but when they're done and the truck starts with authority and is electrically stout, I'm happy.
