How have you guys changed the color of the HVAC controls? Changed the color of my gauges and now the green controls stick out like a sore thumb. An attempt I made on a spare set just resulted in the damage of the black area.
I attempted sanding the green from behind and it also removed the black part.
So how did you check the color on the main cluster to red?
You use red LED bulbs? why not the same for HVAC?
On the 80's trucks they have colored domes this over time become frosted and dirty and will not let light thru.
They say to remove the domes and use colored LED bulbs.
I liked the factory color so went with green LED's and worked out great.

Now it looks like a Pontiac cluster. I find red to be hard on the eyes.
Isn’t the bulb behind that switch housing?
never been a fan of pontiac red personally... had a 98 grand prix for a time and I can see how its some peoples jam, but its not mine. If I had choice in color backgrounds, I would have used a soft blue in this era fords, and the slightly darker green that GM generally used at the same time would have been white or traditional "incandescent backlit" where there isnt direct light shining through the cluster but kinda older style where its more or less lit up from behind indirectly.
