Red would be easier to blend; I would keep it red and possible put a black top/ roof cap on to break up / blend the front into a two tone minus the side panels; being painted black. Truck looks sharp; I will be painting my 78 this two color combo within the next year, with use the cab molding trim to sepreate the two colors.

That sounds pretty cool. I have all the molding/trim for the sides but I like it without it so won't be using it. I have to check I think everything is in really good shape if anybody is looking for some.
of course I have always liked the factory orange in this years, Check the one in the header on this link in the bronco graveyards add. Looks sharp to me
But just an idea. If you drive a lot of gravel, or want something different, have spray on bed liner shot onto the rockers up to the first ridge. Then have the bed shot and carried over the rail. Also tint the rear window a little. Then paint the FORD on the tailgate black.
I also like your idea of painting the cab black. I have a dark brown with white cab. I like the 2 tone cab look.
I had a buddy that had a 79 that was red with silver in the middle, it looked really nice, but you really have to go with the racetrack trim to pull that off. Go with red.
Ok so i'll be the one to say go with Black. IMO you just can't beat the looks of a Black truck especially in these years... I'd go with a black on chrome, chrome headlight trim, i'd change them to square headlights, big chrome bumpers, chrome grill and some classy chrome rims... Tint the windows so dark they won't even know your name... Just my opinion... Good luck with you project.
wow so far 9-2 Red. I would have thought more ppls would have said black. I love black but I don't want to have to baby it as far as scratches are conserned. I plan on taking care of the truck but I am going to use it.
