My condolences Curtis, never easy.
I am sitting with my father right now, he is going through terminal restlessness.
but I do have time to pray for you and your family.
Curtis - I'll be praying for you and your family. The loss of a father is never easy. Loved ones passing away is a very leveling aspect of life right? It is something we will all experience if the Lord tarries.
Thank you for sharing these sentiments with your Ford/Super Duty family. It's really cool that you thought to include the folks that you talk to remotely on a daily basis. The memories will live on.
Curtis, so sorry for the loss of your father. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
My father passed last October, 10 days before his 98th birthday. The severe frostbite that he suffered in the Ardennes Forest in 1945 made his last few years miserable.
So everyone, just a bunch of very gracious people on this forum, thank you all so much for the sentiments and well wishes and reinforcing support.
I'm getting to the point where I am not just falling apart when I tell people about what has happened.
I got put on a new run today for this weekend, and the first thing I thought about was I couldn't call my dad to let him know what I was going to be doing.
He was a Super Duty 6.7 PSD owner before he retired, and he had a number of others in the past.
The VA told the funeral home people that he qualified for funeral services and to be interred at the national cemetery, even though he was in the Navy for only a very short time, we are waiting to see when his funeral services can be scheduled.
Anyway, thanks again to all of you guys, I really appreciate you all.
The VA funeral reps that I dealt with at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio were top-shelf, and really knew their jobs. Most were veterans and showed the utmost respect and professionalism dealing with me in setting up my father's interment. Dad is resting in a columbarium amongst other veterans, with room for his widow when her time comes.
So, if that's where your father is to be interred, then I believe that once you see the place you'll be sure that your father would've approved.
