DPFE Sensor Replacement

Hey all. I have a 1995 F-150 with a 5.8 that was made in California so my EGR system is equipped with a DPFE sensor putting it in a weird position for getting replacement parts. Anyway, I got a 335 Code a few months ago and confirmed via voltage test (pulling vacuum from the REF port to confirm a change or not in voltage in the top pin - there was no change) that the sensor was bad so I replaced it with a Standard Motors VP12 since that was the only one compatible with my wiring harness/plug and the CEL went away for a few months. Now it's popped back up again with the same 335 code and I did the same test and confirmed the sensor is bad again.

Two questions I have:
  1. Is there anything else I should check in the EGR system that would make the sensor go bad? The same Standard Motors VP12 DPFE sensor was on it for about 4 years before it went bad.
  2. Is it worth switching the wiring harness with this part so I can go Motorcraft? Seems like its the only way to get a Motorcraft DPFE sensor for my truck.
Thanks for the help!

Worth it to get the Motorcraft sensor IMO, aftermarket modules have lousy quality control these days.

Correct IMO
Just about every aftermarket DPFE I have installed needed to be replaced with a Motorcraft to keep the check engine lamp off

Thanks guys. I just ordered the Motorcrafter sensor and plug swap kit. I'll post an update here in a few months if it's working still after I swap it.
