Hey all. I have a 1995 F-150 with a 5.8 that was made in California so my EGR system is equipped with a DPFE sensor putting it in a weird position for getting replacement parts. Anyway, I got a 335 Code a few months ago and confirmed via voltage test (pulling vacuum from the REF port to confirm a change or not in voltage in the top pin - there was no change) that the sensor was bad so I replaced it with a Standard Motors VP12 since that was the only one compatible with my wiring harness/plug and the CEL went away for a few months. Now it's popped back up again with the same 335 code and I did the same test and confirmed the sensor is bad again.
Two questions I have:
Is there anything else I should check in the EGR system that would make the sensor go bad? The same Standard Motors VP12 DPFE sensor was on it for about 4 years before it went bad.
Is it worth switching the wiring harness with this part so I can go Motorcraft? Seems like its the only way to get a Motorcraft DPFE sensor for my truck.
