75 Highboy front axle options
Heck I got a Dana 60's set under a project. NOT my front end spacer work, that is all PO stuff that I need to fix.
I already sold one other set of Dana 60's, that were still attached to a frame with a rusty body 79 F250 SC LB with 460-C-6-NP-205.

I never knew front disk brakes only came on the 1976 & early 1977.
I was grateful after learning that my 1976 did came with disc brakes.
Factory Ford locking hubs are virtually impossible to find.
Can't find new spindles either. The threads are messed up on at least one of mine.
A few of the hard parts are extremely scarce.
Basically, it is a '78 Ford F250 Dana 44 with '86 Chevy knuckles, spindles and 8-lug 2500 series hubs with rotors and GM single piston Calipers. Done Deal.
Bunches of this stuff interchanges on the Dana 44 axle housings.
On my '77 F350 Crew 2wd to 4wd conversion, I purchased a '78 Dana king-pin 60 with factory discs. Yes, these are spendy, but look at the cost of a set of tires.
Steering: yes, I am cheap, and cannot see spending big $$$$ for a rebuilt PS box, so for my steering on the pickup conversion, I used a run of the mill PS box out of a 2wd Ford F150, year 1993. $40.00 all day at Pick-n-Pull yards. Works beautifully, and gives me cross-over steering.
I used a Dyna-Trac cross-over steering arm for the passenger side knuckle too. They have Answers too.
So, if all you can find is a mid-70's F150 Dana 44 front, just purchase the F250 knuckles and outers of your choice, and run it.
A friendly phone call to Dyna-Trac can possibly give you some great options.
Here in the north end of the great Sacramento River Valley in California, the high Sierra Nevada mountains houses bunches of '70's vintage Fords.
The Fords make their way thru the local Pick-n-Pull yards monthly. All over northern California. yep.
Now to have one shipped to Idaho, would cost you a $500 bill with most shippers. But, if you can get what you need, then the $500 is chump change.
Geeze, I put an easy $600 or more in parts to refurb my Dana 60 king pins assembly back in '97, so that would double today. YIKES.
