I've run Viair on my last 3 trucks and have always loved having it. The first one I did an install on the frame rail under the truck. The last two, I've simply run tank/pump combo units in the front passenger corner of the bed. For my '450 that will be here, hopefully this week, I'll likely do the install above the spare tire as seen in the link. I also run a small retractable hose reel in the bed of the truck mounted near the tailgate. It makes air adjustments to the truck or trailer a breeze.
I sometimes wish I had gone with the twin, but only to get 150 psi instead of 100 for my air horn! lol. For as little as I need to air up the single is plenty adequate though… at least so far. Also, I have read others saying they wish they would have put the QD in the bed and I have thought about it but at the license plate has worked out great for me. Plus, with other stuff in the bed I would be afraid something could get shoved into it, or something would be in the way for me to hook up the air hose to it.
Put the air line connection IN the back passenger side corner of the box. Thank me later
This has been mentioned a few times. By the license plate has worked out great for me. It’s out of the way, looks like it belongs and is easily accessible. A 25’ hose reaches all 4 truck tires and all 4 of my camper tires with ease. Plus I don’t have to lower the tailgate to get to it (which can be a pain if hooked to my camper) and I don’t have to worry about items in the bed getting smashed against it and damaging it, or having to move items to plug an air hose into it. I saw where some were putting it under the bumper at the rear and was complaining that it got filled with gunk and such, but by the license plate it stays clean. I also bought a plug for it so nothing gets in it so it’s always clean and ready to go! Just my $0.02…
Haven’t seen that, but that’s interesting. Not $125 interesting (to me) but for those wanting an in the bed option it would be a nice way to do it, assuming there is enough depth for it to fit. Makes me think I could have recessed mine in the bumper a little more but I’ve had no troubles with it this way either. And for those with gas engines folks also install it under the gas flap where the DEF fill up would be on the diesel. I still think the back bumper is the most convenient though.

Where did you get that plug? I need to get one for mine. It's in same location and has worked out perfectly to date. Just want to keep it clean of debris. Thanks!
I followed KYD's setup in his F450 mostly with some mods of my own.
ARB Twin compressor mounted above spare tire
5 gallon air tank mounted along passenger frame rail with manual drain ****
QD by license plate with a 50' rigid anti kink air hose can hit all trailer and truck tires easily
Firestone 7500xl red label air bags with separate manual fill by rear license plateI can attach in the event I ever have a compressor failure
Airlift air bag pressure gauge mounted in dash behind skinny glove box compartment door so I can adjust bag pressure on the fly
Hornblaster 4 horn set mounted above spare tire facing rearward
Upfitter 1 is the air horns
Upfitter 2 is the compressor
Wish I would have added an air pressure gauge in the cab. Only thing I would change. The auto dump valve for the tank would be nice but for the money I can take a few minutes once a month to drain it.

It’s a “pacifier” from Witt’s End. The color has faded a bit over the years but the plug will not fail. For about $20 it was a great add on.
