I enjoyed the Minotaur class Thu and learned a lot. I was surprised how very few attendees actually brought along a computer. Based on this, I think only a handful of people were really interested in authoring or modifying their own tunes. @Peixinho was one of those few, and asked many observant questions. Bill was very forthright sharing his decades of experience. I also learned a lot from Andrew Arthur who weighed in often. If you are in the market for custom tunes, I would recommend speaking with AA first.
I don't think I'll ever go into the custom tune business, but at least now I'm able to understand and adjust how my trucks work. Also, I believe I've sourced a Quarterhorse, so I can start messing with live tuning. I'm interested in contributing features and improvements to the Minotaur software. And more importantly, how authors could more easily share and compare revisions. Instead of directly comparing binary files, it would be interesting to use engineering values and a source control tool like Git. Bill also mentioned that they are working on a new knowledge base that might help tuners share info.
Unfortunately I had to leave Thu night, so I didn't get to meet @ESwift and @RacinJasonWV the next day. I'm told the Fri & Sat sessions were recorded, so I hope to listen to them when the recordings become available.
